His debut feature film, A Powerful Noise, premiered at the 2008 Tribeca and Silverdocs Film Festivals, was released nationally in 460 theaters, and grossed just under $500K at the box office ranking it as one of the "Top 200" documentaries of all-time. For three seasons, Tom wrote and produced multiple episodes for the History Channel series Deep Sea Detectives while serving as Supervising Producer. He just wrote and directed a Comcast pilot for the series, Foot Soldiers of Freedom, examining the lesser known heroes of the Civil Rights Movement. Additionally, Cappello has written and produced for National Geographic Explorer, American Public Television, TCM, TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network, Coca -Cola, and UPS.

Dan Abrams is on the Producers Guild of America's AP Council Board of Delegates. Early in Abrams' career, he produced over a dozen documentaries for E! Entertainment Television (including biographies of Lenny Bruce, Orson Welles, and Otis Redding).
