We will seek to get at the root causes of the problems facing society and address the issues head on. Paterson, NJ will become the new ground zero of study in the economics and benchmarks of social transformation. The top minds have descended on the project with one goal in mind: Fix a US city, study the formula, and replicate it so that others can benefit from it. After a compelling one-year journey, our audience of viewers will have seen how generosity, hard work and synergies can affect not only the individual problems but also the culture and spirit of an American city.

Case Study Of The Social Issue Film, A POWERFUL NOISE
A POWERFUL NOISE was the debut feature film of accomplished director, Tom Cappello. We feel a similar distribution strategy combining festival buzz with an exclusive one-night screening event is a viable and profitable avenue to pursue for TIME TO IMPACT.
Released in honor of International Women's Day 2009, A POWERFUL NOISE broke new ground in the distribution of social issue documentaries by using Fathom Events. Fathom Events provides satellite distribution to theaters across the country to create a one-night only simulcast film event. In addition to the film, a live town hall meeting featuring Natalie Portman, Nicholas Kristoff, Christi Turlington Burns, and Madeleine Albright immediately followed the film to discuss the issues facing marginalized women and girls living in absolute poverty around the world.
The film event was an unprecedented success. We will use the same model to release TIME TO IMPACT. The film event will inspire people to recognize and fight to reverse the effects of poverty here in the United States. Following the one-night only release of the film, we will use the publicity from the event to do a limited theatrical run in large markets and create a spin-off TV series. The TV series will delve deeper into the lives of the main characters and how drastic, positive change is affecting their lives. The series will be a conscious reminder that poverty and social ills should no longer besiege our communities.
Here are the key successes from the release of A POWERFUL NOISE:
- Released in 460 theaters nationwide
- Over 165+ million media impressions, including features and live interviews on The Today Show, CNN, and Good Morning America
- Trailer was played for two months on 14,000+ movie screens nationwide over the Christmas holidays and during Oscar film viewing season in February
- Created over 75 new corporate partnerships for CARE, including Nike, Wal-Mart, Saks Fifth Avenue, Microsoft, and The Gap. Wal-Mart gave their first ever large corporate gift to CARE this year as a result of experiencing the Women's Empowerment Movement via the film.
- Raised over $400,000 in gross ticket sales at the box office, ranking A POWERFUL NOISE in the Top 200 of the most successful documentaries of all-time
- Created the first ever "Tweet-A-Thon" on Twitter raising $5000 for CARE and captured nearly 3500 new email addresses via first-ever on-screen "Text To Take Action Event"
- Serves as marketing springboard for DVD Sales, Educational Outreach, and Grassroots House Party events that will start with the release of the DVD on July 5
